St. Matthew is a small rural church serving the community of Adair and surrounding areas.  Established in 1899, St. Matthew has a rich German heritage. 

Services were originally conducted in German when St. Matthew was The First German Evangelical Church of Adair.  The original bell still calls worshipers to service on Sunday mornings.

The church is located 1 mile south of the I-94 St. Clair exit, just off Palms Road.
